Bridging the Gap Foundation
Spotlights
Lisa Thomas-Vernon
As a service provider, an obstacle in the mental health community is the inability to support children and families by offering them the help and support they need and deserve. The Bridging the Gap Foundation has been inspirational and instrumental in leveling the playing field by making counseling sessions affordable for clients in Dallas County. It is a win-win- for all. Thank you BTG Foundation for trusting me as a professional and allowing me to do what I absolutely love. It is an honor beyond measure! Thank you.
Dr. Shelia Lumar
Dear Bridging the Gap Foundation Representative,
It has been my pleasure to be a part of the Bridging the Gap foundation’s network of mental health professionals. As a public servant, I
find it gratifying that your foundation offers financial resources for those struggling with mental health challenges and limited resources to obtain therapeutic services. Your financial support provides access to mental health services that would otherwise be unavailable.
The feedback received from clients referred from Bridging the Gap has been overwhelmingly positive. Several of the clients report that Bridging the Gap monetary resources and community referrals provide opportunities for others to become more self-sufficient to live an enriching and fulfilling life; regardless of the mental health challenges faced. I have also found my interactions with the foundation to be very professional, authentic, and compassionate. The representatives are knowledgeable, patient, and understanding of therapeutic/clinical relationships and processes. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the clients referred by the Bridging the Gap foundation. Despite the psychological challenges, each client has been courteous, respectful, and committed to improving their well-being.
Lastly, the Bridging the Gap foundation’s administrative systems for referrals and receiving payment for services are flawless and easily navigated. The representative(s) respond in an expedited manner and continuously express willingness to assist as the need arises. I am very pleased the Bridging the Gap Foundation is committed to serving the mental health community. Together, I believe we can effectively make positive changes in the lives of those we serve.
Litza Bodden
Our mental health affects how we feel, think, and live our lives by encompassing our emotional, psychological, and sociological well-being. Unfortunately, not everybody has access to these services due to their socioeconomic status, ethnicity, race, and demographics. Thanks to Bridging the Gap Foundation (BTGF), my clients and many others that are in need of financial assistance and information on where to get services have been able to have access to quality services due to this amazing organization. Shining Lights Counseling LLCs’ clients and I are grateful for all the support that has been given by BTGF. I am glad to have the opportunity to collaborate with them. Thanks, for all that you do for my organization and the DFW community! Litza Christina Bodden, LPC-S and founder of Shining Lights Counseling LLC
